These are yesterday's photos (I promised [info]sovay I'd produce some) but I'm sitting here in the RavenCon hallway with a laptop, so it's live in that sense. (Images by too-kind courtesy of [info]lonebrandedwolf.) These may be subject to more editing later (and in fact have been).

Anita in her Mother Nature costume

Anita resplendent in her multiple award-winning (in different incarnations) Guardian of the Green costume, not long before she helped judge the masquerade contest. Is it any wonder she has an affinity for plants?

my poetry workshop

I gave my poetry workshop yesterday morning to an audience of about 10, which made it a challenge to do all the exercises in an hour slot, but we managed. I think [info]dkolodji would be proud of me, because I explained what a scifaiku was and made everyone write one. I also did an exercise suggested by Robert Frazier, in which I held up a Michael Whelan painting, had everyone write one line related to the image, and then arranged them all into a single poem. The results were actually quite striking. Hopefully I will be able to share the resulting poem later.

Are blogs and webcomics the next fanzubes?

This was a panel on whether blogs and webcomics have taken the place of fanzines. From left to right: moderator Michael A. Burstein [info]mabfan, Barb Fischer of Fragile Gravity, Bryan Prindiville, myself and Robert Jeschonek. In a word, our answer was yes.

FYI, it's Michael A. Burstein, not Micheal Burnstein.

Nice photo!

Sorry, Michael! My Type-O blood spilled all over this hasty post. But I have fixed at least your name! :)

Great panel, and I enjoyed our brief meeting. I understand you're friends with [info]madwriter, who I've known for many, many years.

[info]madwriter and I met via LJ, and this was the first time we had actually met in person. It was a delight. And it was a delight to meet you too!

([info]gnomi and I really need to get to more cons outside of the northeast...)

Will you be at ReaderCon? I'm coming to that, and, I think, so is [info]madwriter . . .

If you're interested, I also hope to have up more pictures of RavenCon later today (including Mike and Anita)--though I'm glad Mike got some shots of at least this panel, as mine turned out awfully dark.

On the other hand, the one shot I took of Mike with my night filter gives his head a nice eerie blur.

Nice Photo
Hey, it was nice meeting you this weekend. Thanks for putting up the photo (since I'm to absent minded to think of having someone take any for me). -bry

Re: Nice Photo
I'll admit that I'd never heard of Bassetville before the con, but I suspect I'll be a regular reader now. :)
