Congratulations to the following poets whose work in Mythic Delirium received Honorable Mentions from the latest edition of The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror:


  • Constance Cooper, "How the Sea People Mourn" (Issue 13)
  • Jaida Jones, "Les Berceaux" (Issue 13)
  • Aurelio Rico Lopez III, "Arise" (Issue 13)
  • Carma Lynn Park, "Crow Eats Carrion" (Issue 13)
  • Catherynne M. Valente, "The Queen of Hearts" (Issue 13)
  • Sonya Taaffe, "Tarot in the Dungeon" (Issue 12)


    This isn't as many as last year (we had 9), though I still consider it respectable. I can't complain too much, though, because I personally got 10 HMs. I'm certain that will never happen again. I think the "Prime Books Poetry Team" fared quite well, with [info]yuki_onna getting 13 HMs and [info]sovay getting 14. But some of theirs were for fiction. Nunna mine were.

    I'm particularly proud that one of my HMs was for "Asunder," one of my bizarre collaborations with Christina Sng. And that one was for my "scary Mormon" poem "The Elders." And four were for poems from Disturbing Muses. Okay, I've crowed enough.

    Well, you don't get a plaque or anything; your name and poem are listed in the long list that appears in the back of the book. But we small press types love them...
